Nvidia has decided to drop the price of the flagship GeForce RTX 4090 in Europe, which is now listed for €1859 (Euros) on Nvidia’s official store, down from €1949. The GeForce RTX 4080 received the same treatment as well, now listed for €1399, down from €1469.
Is this the start of a trend in price reduction from Nvidia, where the California-based tech giant gets ready to fight against the imminent launch of the Radeon RX 7900 series from AMD? Or is this simply a natural reflection for the change in the Dollar/Euro exchange rate?
Regardless of the reason, the price reduction for Founders Edition of Nvidia’s high-end GPUs is certainly a welcomed one, and could mean that Nvidia’s AIBs might follow suit and drop the prices for their custom models as well.
However, the launch of AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX and RX 7900 XT on December 13th, is certainly going to put even more pressure on Nvidia’s high-end GPUs, especially the RTX 4080, which -at its current price- sits in a difficult market position, failing to provide a good valuation to justify selling.
