After the successful launch of the Nvidia RTX 40 desktop GPU series, which was well received by the tech community, it seems that Nvidia is continuing full steam ahead, with plans to bring the new architecture to laptops as well.
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 40 Mobile lineup leaks out
A new leak surface over on Twitter by REHWK, who posted a marketing slide containing a chart of the alleged RTX 40 mobile series and their desktop counterparts. According to the leak, the RTX 40 mobile lineup consists of 5 GPUs in total under the name GN21.
Minutes after, hardware leaker harukaze5719 has also shared the alleged RTX 40 mobile chart, adding new information as to the Ada GPU dies being used and their associated TDPs.
The leaked RTX 40 mobile GPU lineup includes the GeForce RTX 4090 mobile, utilizing the AD103 die, with power consumption peaking at 175W, the RTX 4080 Ti Mobile, which will rely on the AD104 die, with peak power consumption of 175W as well, the RTX 4070 Mobile, utilizing the AD 106 die, with peak power consumption of 140W. Finally both RTX 4060 TI mobile and RTX 4060 mobile will rely on the AD107 die, unfortunately, no information was revealed regarding their TDPs.
If the leaked information is accurate, this means that the RTX 4090 mobile, will provide desktop RTX 3090 / RTX 4080 levels of performance at only 175W TDP, making it a big improvement over its mobile graphics predecessors. Of course, we’re still some ways away from any actual release, and Nvidia hasn’t made any official statements yet, so we’ll have to wait and see how this shapes up in the near future before drawing any performance conclusions.
